Quick answer

Booking a stay at La Valette Boutique comes with a private guide on your phone: practical details for the house, the markets and events still to come this week, a 14-day forecast, local tips around Uzès, in six languages, and it can be saved to work without WiFi or mobile signal.

What it holds: the house and its rules, the week's markets and events, the forecast and a safety notice when there is one, local tips, and a guestbook.

What it does not hold: your Wi-Fi password and the arrival details. Those come in the pre-arrival message the day before check-in.

La Valette Boutique, two boutique stone apartments in Sanilhac-Sagriès near Uzès in the Gard, gives every guest a private guide that opens on a phone without an app. It lists the week's markets and events, shows a 14-day forecast, carries a safety notice only when the hosts publish one, and can be saved to work without WiFi or mobile signal. It is available in English, French, Dutch, German, Spanish and Italian.

The guide, live

This is the real guide of La Petite Valette, opened without a name or dates. Each apartment has its own guide, which you open with the QR code in the apartment. Nothing in it is personal: the Wi-Fi password and the arrival details only come in your pre-arrival message.

The guest guide on a phone: tiles for your stay, the week, the weather, local tips and more

It opens inside this page. The weather, markets and events are live, as they are for guests.

Today

One card for the day

At the top of the guide: today's forecast, the market that runs today (or the next one), the events on today and one suggestion that fits the weather, with a link to the matching guide on this site.

A forecast is not a promise: the card says so.

This week

Markets and events, never out of date

The list shows everything that has not ended yet, with today's markets first. An event is gone the day after it ends. Events whose dates the organiser has not published yet say so instead of guessing.

The same list as on our events page, from one source.

Weather and the river

A forecast, and the official warnings

A 14-day forecast for the village. The weather panel also links to Météo-France vigilance, Vigicrues and the prefecture of the Gard. When we publish a safety notice, for example after a heavy-rain warning, it shows at the top of the guide until it ends. The guide never says that it is safe: it only passes on a notice and the links.

After heavy rain the Gardon can rise within hours, even under a clear sky.

Without signal

Save it once, use it anywhere

Out and about there is no WiFi, and around Sagriès the mobile signal is often weak or missing. One tap on "Save for offline use", while you are on WiFi, stores the guide on your phone. After that it opens without a connection. Weather, maps and booking pages still need one.

An updated guide always wins when there is signal.

The rest

The house, the village, the guestbook

Practical information and the house rules, questions and answers, local tips around Uzès, a ceramics workshop in the village, stories of the place, the news, wallpapers to download and a guestbook for your own words.

Frequently asked

About the guest guide

It comes with your booking: after you book, you receive the link to your guide. The Wi-Fi password and the arrival details follow in the pre-arrival message the day before check-in. In the apartment, a QR code sticker opens the guide of that apartment.

No. It is a web page that opens in your phone's browser. You can save it for offline use with one tap, and on an iPhone you can add it to the home screen so it is one tap away.

Yes, once you have tapped "Save for offline use" while on WiFi. The guide, its lists and the local tips then open without a connection. The weather, maps and booking pages need a connection, and the guide says so.

English, French, Dutch, German, Spanish and Italian. You switch language inside the guide at any time.

There is no account and no sign-up. If your link carries your name and dates, they are used in your own browser to greet you. Saving the guide for offline use stores it on your own phone, and nowhere else.
